THE CALIFORNIA COMMISSION ON ASIAN PACIFIC ISLANDER AMERICAN AFFAIRS TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARING ON ISSUES OF CIVIC ENGAGEMENT IN SAN JOSE
On Friday, February 10, 2017, the California Commission on Asian Pacific Islander American Affairs (CAPIAA) will hold a public hearing in San Jose, CA.
The hearing agenda will include remarks by Assemblymember Ash Kalra about the California State Assembly’s agenda for the upcoming legislative session. Other elected officials and local leaders have been invited to testify and speak on opportunities for the Commission to partner with local organizations to strengthen and support the APIA community.
Congressman Mike Honda will give remarks about his service in Congress and how the Commission can empower and engage the APIA community in light of federal challenges. The Commission will also recognize Congressman Honda with a lifetime service award.
The Commission will also present resolutions in recognition of San Jose-based APIA organizations and leaders for their exceptional work in serving the APIA community.
